In my evolving photography journey the introduction of digital processing represented a pivotal moment. Transitioning from traditional film to digital methods in 2006 allowed me to deepen my engagement with the medium while refining my skills. Digital processing not only expedited the workflow but also unlocked new opportunities for creative expression.

The ability to edit and manipulate images digitally opened a realm of possibilities. I could now adjust aspects such as exposure, colour balance, and contrast with precision, tailoring each photograph to enhance its narrative.

At the heart of my work is traditional landscape photography, a passion nurtured during countless hikes in the Lakeland fells. The dynamic nature of the weather in this area captivates me, revealing a powerful drama that unfolds across the environment. I find myself continually drawn to observe how the elements interact, how light and shade weave through the landscape, creating intricate patterns that echo the relationship between the land and the sky above.

Despite my deep-rooted affinity for natural landscapes, my urban background also influences my photography. I take pleasure in capturing the essence of everyday life in urban settings, an interest that was recognised in 2020 when I received commendation in The UK Landscape Photographer Of The Year (LPOTY) competition in the Urban Life Category. This dual approach allows me to explore and convey the beauty of both rural and urban environments, each with its distinct character and richness.
